Period Elements
The goal of this project was to identify elements accurate to a time period provided to us, and to use those elements to create a modern set to host a "Morning Magazine" style program. We were to identify design, architectural, and style elements from the time period to create a set which emulated the period, but did not accurately recreate it. I was assigned "1930s Style and Fashion
I am pleased with the research I put into this project, and I immensly enjoyed discovering all the small pieces of 1930s design. I decided to focus on the idea of technology and progress, trying to integrate inspiration from light fixtures and kitchenware into my design. The thing I struggled with the most was the color scheme. I reached my final orange and teal color scheme by taking inspiration from Clarice Cliff pottery. My final card model is a bit lacking in refinement, and given the chance to do this project again, I would definitely spend more time thinking of the actual architectural elements of the set, rather than the props it would be dressed with.
